I kind of wish i had a download counter… but if you read them, let us know! Sometimes you really wonder if anyone actually reads these things, or whether they just click on the links, lol…
Anyway a small bit of news for you all- starting from now, all our new releases will be hosted on http, with the possible exception of Naruto/ID which take a lot of bandwidth. I think it would be a good way for people to read our releases without having to learn how to use IRC, and bandwidth is much cheaper these days than it used to be. The IRC channel will still host our releases, but with Mraoul missing, we can’t really do much in the way of bots. (Mraoul, if you’re reading this, come back to us!)

Well, I’m really glad you guys are still doing Sing Yesterday and restarting Worldend Fairytale. I’ve been waiting for years for Worldend and all but lost hope on that one, and quickly losing hope on Sing Yesterday. Glad Spiral’s been keeping up too.

Great. Haven’t bothered to bug you about the translations, but I’m moving next week and then I’ll be without internet for about a month in worst case. Because of that I’ve tried to get as much to edit as possible in “store”.

Wow.
I’ve been waiting quietly for Naruto but when I saw Inane had some other activity going on, I finally decided to check them out.
Spiral: My reaction to the first chapter was along the lines of “Well, they certainly were casual about the violent death of a school girl.” But I was hooked by the beautiful artwork, and after reading through the first chapter of Vol. 5, I must say I have fallen in love with the story as well. Thank you very much for introducing me to such a wonderful manga. (They could just call it Spiral because the logic makes my head spin, lol; I’m so easily fooled but I love how much thought the mangaka puts into this.)
Purely out of curiousity, why are some random pages of Vol. 4 suddenly magazine-grey? I’m guessing just lack of editors, but I’m glad you released it anyway; it would have been killer to stop in the middle of that arc. I’m sorry I don’t have much experience editing, but I am trying to learn. Maybe I can come back and help you someday.
Hoshi No Koe - I’ve watched the anime, but after reading the first two chapters of this, it looks like it will be able to get far more indepth.
It’s too bad that Inane won’t be finishing this. I just went and found the two Inane chapters on #lurk (as Voices of a Distant Star), and after comparing Inane and MS (Tokyopop?), I’d have to say I prefer Inane. I love the Inane fonts/typesetting and the merging of the double pages. The other’s translations seem a bit - liberal? (ex. “beautiful” vs. “huge”? not to mention the first pages) I don’t know; someone the Inane translations seemed to fit the mood of the manga better (as well as sometimes making more sense). Ah well. Thank you for having done the chapters you did, introducing me to another beautiful manga, and even directly linking to the rest of the chapters.
(BTW, I noticed that the MS version has several pages near the end of the second chapter that weren’t in Inane’s release; did they just add those pages for the volume version, since it explains better her motivation for staying? But that’s neither here nor there.)
SYFM - Have yet to check it out. But after being so pleasantly surprised by the other two, I definitely will.

Hmm the only thing i can think of for the Hoshi no Koe, was that we were translating em from the magazine scans. usually when it gets published in book format they correct any little errors, and sometimes the creators touch up some of the art work, too, like you may have heard of hunter x hunter’s mangaka going back and redoing the artwork for the later volumes~
